My daughter is on winter break this week. Today the snow is flying, but yesterday we made it out to lunch and a movie and stopped in to the only used book store in my area. I had 5 selections that I had decided to trade in and we came home with 6 new selections with $0 spent! I found clean, like new copies of The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins (which was my favorite find of the day), The Mill on the Floss by George Eliot (because it was such a nice used copy and Allie has such good things to say), The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon. Exciting, but perhaps it is time to stop adding to the TBR pile and start reading!!! :)

Wow! You found some great titles and at a great price. I've been wanting to read The Moonstone ever since I finished The Woman in White.
I know what you mean. I keep finding great deals on used books, but I have yet to find time to read any of my new acquisitions.
Oh! Great finds! I loved Curious Incident when I read it a couple years ago-it was wonderfully surprising and not what I expected.
I hope you love Mill on the Floss. I just adore Eliot... :)
I hadn't been to the used store in months because on my last few trips I had not been able to find anything I was looking for in the condition I was looking for. Like for example, I have an adversion to books that have extremely yellowed pages. Although, sometimes I will buy them just for vintage covers that I am using for a collage project. I was pleasantly surprised this time though. I wish I had not just bought East of Eden and Of Mice and Men at Borders earlier in the week (even tho I had coupons and discounts) because there were like new copies at the used store of these as well. Oh well. I suppose I should just stop in more often just in case. I really wish there was more than one used store in my area!
I just finished Curious Incident and I really liked it! :)
